For like, evs, I've been trying to find some curtains for the front window. I was at Ikea Saturday so I decided to just buy a pair and if I hated them, I could always return them.
Right now the color in my living rooms are all pretty light, so I wondered what it would look like if I went with something deep and dark - like navy blue.
Here was the result (it's a reenactment with photoshop because I didn't get an actual picture while they were up).
It just felt way too heavy and weighed down the room.
The next day I returned them and swung by HomeGoods since it's right next to Ikea, and found some Cynthia Rowly curtains for half the price of the Ikea ones. I again, figured if I didn't like them I could return them.
But I LOVE THEM.
So here's a badly lit picture of them.
Here's a much better lit close-up.
But they aren't without their imperfection, mainly this:
That fix will be for another post though.
In the meantime, here's a glimpse of my board and batten work in progress - ps I love it.

Dude, that is looking awesome. Also, I am interested to see what your curtain fix is. Why can't they make them longer? WHY?
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to ask me, I think the first photo is a little off. Good thing a much lighter color for your windows. It makes the space vibrant and lively. But adding some adornments will not hurt too!

Nice! You have a wide glass window in your living room, huh? Hmm, it looks like a big aquarium to me and the people you see are the little fishes. Haha! Anyhow, your curtain looks great. I didn’t appreciate it on the second photo. But with the close-ups, I can say that it’s very relaxing. The color somewhat makes me feel calm.
